The Academy Awards, or more ordinarily known equally The Oscars, are widely considered to be the most coveted awards in the filmmaking industry. Acknowledged and voted for by many professionals in the industry, an Oscar is but awarded to films and actors that truly deserve it; or so it seems. Since the inception of The University Awards, there have been countless debates over nominees who should've or shouldn't have received an Oscar for their work. There are many great archetype movies that should have won the Best Motion-picture show accolade only sadly did not. These movies nevertheless hold up over time, despite defective this coveted award.
The Shawshank Redemption
This critically acclaimed drama is considered to exist one of the best films of all time. Pulp Fiction
The flick Lurid Fiction was written by Quentin Tarantino and Roger Avery and this moving-picture show redefined the way we look at the genre Flick Noir. With a not linear timeline this movie is an exciting change of pace for the genre itself. It lost to Forrest Gump.
Up
The stigma surrounding animated picture show can often exist overwhelming. Animated movies often receive more than criticism than they deserve and can be defendant of defective real homo depth. However, the absenteeism of actual human models does not take away from the mastery of picture and Up proves this idea with elegance. Although it contains classic Disney movie elements and plot points, Up tells the unique fantasy story of an elderly man who sets out to accomplish his babyhood dream in order to fill a certain void in his life. The real quality of this film tin can exist attributed to the bright and fluid animations which raise the storyline and the fantastic dialogue between two main unique protagonists, allowing the film to exist enjoyable past old and young akin. Saving Private Ryan
Many people think of Saving Individual Ryan as a all-time movie winner, simply unfortunately this pic did not win this coveted award. Still considered a classic today, it lost out to a motion picture called Shakespeare in Love which was considered mediocre by movie critics. Many people are surprised to know that such a archetype movie lost out to a movie that failed to stand up the test of time.
Fargo
This Coen brothers classic lost out the motion picture The English Patient in the 1997 Oscars for all-time picture. This crime drama starred William H. Macy and Steve Buscemi. Information technology did win the Oscar for best original screenplay and the best extra in 1997, but it failed to snag the best picture honour.
